Introduction

    DHL can be delivered to most countries and regions in the world.Most non-restricted products can be shipped, except for those prohibited by customs regulations of countries and those prohibited by aviation. Different countries and regions have different requirements for import customs clearance. Please confirm in advance whether the package you send meets the requirements of the destination customs.

Requirement 


    DHL service is generally used for personal customs clearance, and the package must be sent within the reasonable range of personal use. If it exceeds the reasonable range of personal use and causes customs clearance failure, the user must bear the losses.

*Members are required to truthfully declare the amount, quantity and name of the goods. Members are responsible for any costs incurred as a result of false declarations.

*Volumetric weight (KG)= Length(cm)x Width(cm)x Height(cm)/5000.

    If the volumetric weight is greater than the actual weight, DHL chargeable weight of your shipment will always be calculated on whichever is greater.

    E. g: If the volumetric weight of the package size is 10kg and the actual weight is 5kg, the weight of the volumetric weight of 10kg will be charged)

    DHL shipping fee contains fuel charge and emergency surcharge.

 Prohibited Items

DHL and Japan Post have different regulations on prohibited items. Please check the details.


● Live animals (including but not limited to mammals, reptiles, fish, invertebrates, amphibians, insects or birds).

● Hunting (animal) trophies, animal products such as ivory, shark fins, animal remains, or animal by-products or extracts for non-human use, prohibited by CITES regulations or local laws.

● Human remains or ashes in any form.

● Gold and silver (any precious metal).

● Cash (bank notes, cash notes, coins), traveler's checks and activated credit cards.

● Gemstones of lost value and incomplete value (cut or uncut, polished or unpolished).

● Complete firearms, ammunition, explosives, explosive devices, including inert explosives or test samples, air guns, replica or imitation firearms or ammunition.

● Illegal items, such as prohibited drugs, including but not limited to narcotic stimulants, sedatives or hallucinogens. Marijuana or its derivatives.

● Sunscreen products are not supported for delivery due to the need to provide MSDS certification and strict export restrictions.

● Devices containing more than 2 lithium batteries in a single package.

● All food, medicine, medical equipment, and health products. (such as contact lenses, painkillers, milk powder, etc.)


※Note: 1. The restrictions on banned products in each country and region are different, so when using DHL services, it is recommended that users check the customs entry restrictions of the country they want to send to on the DHL official website (such as items containing animal ingredients and weapons and knives cannot be imported into the UK).

2. If the package you send contains a logo such as "Aviation Attention", you need to submit the MSDS safety data sheet file to DHL in advance.


Insurance & Claim

Insurance:

    DHL only provides insurance service for the value of goods (international freight is not insured). If 1.2% of the declared commodity amount is less than 2,500 yen, it will be charged at 2,500 yen; if 1.2% of the declared amount is greater than 2,500 yen, it will be charged at 1.2% of the declared amount. 


Insurance claims: 

    If your package is lost or damaged during international transportation, the actual compensation amount will be mainly determined based on the local DHL company's investigation results.


1. Packages without insurance

    International freight will not be compensated. The compensation amount is calculated at 22SDR per kilo (1sdr=153.76 yen). The maximum claim amount does not exceed the declared amount. If you cannot accept the regulations, it is recommended that you purchase paid insurance service by DHL. Thank you for understanding.

2. Packages with insurance purchased 

Package loss:

     You should provide the materials for claims and the materials should be correct, the compensation amount is: the value of the items declared + international shipping costs, and the maximum compensation amount is the upper limit of the amount after purchasing insurance.

Package damage only:

    You should provide the materials for claims and the materials should be correct. If the items in the package are damaged, the compensation amount is: the declared price of the damaged goods.

Excess material fee:

    If the length of any single side of the package size (length, width and height) exceeds 120cm, an additional 7,000 yen excess material fee is required.

    If the actual weight or volume weight of a single package exceeds 70kg, an additional 15,000 yen excess material fee is required.

Freight to remote areas:

    [Updated on July 12, 2024] From now on, DHL will charge an additional fee of 3,300 yen (tax included) for shipments to remote areas.

Claim materials requirements:

 1. The package number and express number of the missing/damaged items.

 2. A screenshot of the order (or shopping receipt) of the missing/damaged items on the shopping website (the screenshot/receipt must reflect the specific details of the damaged goods, value, delivery address, the express number and other important information).

 3. Photos of the damages. (Detailed photos of the damaged outer box upon receipt, photos of the inner box of the package, and detailed photos of the damages)

※Note: Photos are not required in the case of lost packages.

 4. Please indicate whether you have applied for reinforcement service for the damaged package and the packaging of the damaged items (such as whether the box with damaged items inside or the packaging used has been separately reinforced). 

Note: Please be sure to follow the rules. If the user submits prohibited items without authorization and they are seized and destroyed by customs, all losses must be borne by the user. Therefore, please do not send prohibited items and declare them truthfully. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Disclaimer

    We recommend that you send the packages according to the customs requirements of your local customs.
