According to Japan Post announcemnet, from 1 January 2021, anyone sending posting parcels overseas must provide electronic pre-advice customs information (EAD). To meet this requirement, senders are also required to enter "item weight" in the declaration.

In order to align with EAD, "Weight" column will be added to the Leyifan declaration page from 22 Dec 2020 as follows:
1. When members apply for "Japan Post" shipment, the weight of each item must be filled out.
2. Some items have a "default weight", which is automatically filled in when you select the delcaration type.
3. Some items do not have a "default weight" if you fill in the product items yourself, you can directly enter the weight.

There are two restrictions when entering weight:
1. The weight must be greater than 0.
2. The total weight of all items must not exceed the total weight of the package. Please refer to the following screenshot:

Please try to fill in at least 90% or more of the total weight of the package.

Below are some good examples:
Example 1:  The total weight of the package is 1000g, there are two items A and B in the package. Item A is 300g and Item B is 600g. The total weight is 300+600 = 900g, which is 90% of the total weight of the package.

Example 2: The total weight of the package is 15000g. The are 30 pieces of item A (300g/each) and 10 pieces of item B (600g/each). The total weight is (300x30) + (600x10) = 15000g. The total weight is the same as the amount of the package.

You may put in approximate weight of each single item. However it must not differ much from the actual weight to avoid the package being seized or returned to the warehouse.
