We are happy to announce the Tax Refund Service is back and accepting application now!
(FYI, tax refund refers to "Japanese consumption tax", NOT the import duties etc)
As long as you purchase any products from online shops in Japan, ship them to your country for business purposes by using Leyifan forwarding service and meet the accumulated spending threshold, you can apply this service.
3 Simple Steps:
Requirement:
1. There are 2 Tax Refund plans, monthly and quarterly plan. Both are based on a total spending amount over JPY300,000.
Monthly or quarterly plan must be confirmed atthe time of application. It will take 2 years to change after the approval.
*FYI, The spending amount is calculated based on the actual amount paid for the purchase, excluding shopping points, discounts, coupons, etc *
2.You are required to have an online e-commerce platform operating in Taiwan or Hong Kong or the country where you are located, such as Shopee, PCHome shopping street, own shopping websites etc. (Or a purchase for business purposes)
3. Before signing up for the tax refund campaign, JPY5,000 deposit is required.
After participating in the Tax Refund Scheme for 2 full years*, we will refund the deposit to your Leyifan account balance. If members continue to participate in the Tax Refund Scheme after 2 years, we will refund the deposit to your Layifan account balance upon withdrawal.
*2 full years definition: Submit documents for 24 months if you sign up for monthly plan; Submit documents for 8 quarters if you sign up for quarterly plan.
4. Due to the tax reforms from 01 Oct 2021, to avoid any delays or problems in the tax refund process, please use the name registered for tax refund as the recipient when submitting delivery request from Leyifan everytime.
(We will provide an invoice issued by National Tax Agency JAPAN.)
5. You are required to pay a handling service fee* from the tax refund payment, and the remaining amount will be directly remitted to the designated bank account provided by you, so you need to have a bank account with your name that can receive Japanese Yen.
*Note: Due to the substantial increase in tax refund costs, Leyifan's tax refund service fee will be changed from 35% to 39% from 2020/3/1.

2. After the approval, you will be notified that the tax refund scheme has been officially started. We will share some teaching materials to you accordingly.
Registration Period:
1. Monthly Plan: Before the 15th of each month (accumulation will begin in the next month after the review, and the 15th will be brought forward to the Friday of the week if it is a holiday)
2. Quarterly plan: The current application is Q4 of 2020 (October-December), and the application deadline is September 15 2020.

2. Tax Refund service is mainly used for parcels to be forwarded to countries outside of Japan. You can transfer packages from other platforms or other forwarding companies to Leyifan to accumulate the amount.

Tax Refund Q&A
Q1: Can I apply for a tax refund for packages which I purchase from Rakuten Japan, Amazon Japan or other websites?
Ans: Your packages will be counted as long as it is purchased on a Japanese e-commerce platform (with the selling price including consumption tax) and ship it overseas using Leyifan forwarding service.
Q2: Is the tax refund period determined based on the time when the order was made or the date when the package was delivered to Leyifan's warehouse?
Ans: The tax refund period is based on the time when the order is made, and the pre-ordered products are also calculated based on the order time.
Q3: a) Do I have to use international remittance for tax refund payment? Can you refund to my credit card?
b) If I use multiple bank credit cards to purchase, do I only need to provide one of the bank credit card statements, or do I have to provide all of them?
Ans: a) Tax refund payment only can be made by international remittance to the bank account provided by you. (International remittance fees around JPY4,000-6,500)
b) Members are required to provide screenshots of all statements from multiple bank credit cards because we need to check the actual payment amount.
Q4. Can the monthly or quarterly plan be terminated at anytime? Are there any additional fees other than the deposit?
Ans: Please email us if you want to terminate the scheme. However the deposit will not be refunded if the documents are not submitted for more than 1 year. If you want to re-submit later, you are required to submit back-dated document (even a total spending amount is JPY0 in some months ), you have to submit a "JPY 0 declaration form", the declaration fee is JPY1,000 for 1 period, also you need to pay the accumulated fee.
Q5. If the current accumulated amount is less than JPY300,000 after sign up, will I be unable to apply or need to make up the payment?
Ans: If the spending amount is less than a certain amount, it may be returned by National Tax Agency JAPAN, which may cause of application failure and need to submit the "JPY 0 declaration form".
When processing Tax Refund, members are required to attach relevant screenshots and information. It will take time for you and Leyifan review team to verify the content, so we encourage members can try their best to reach the spending threshold JPY300,000.
